Year 6 English
In Year 6, students are expected to further develop their skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing in their English classes. Each unit is focused on one type of writing style. Starting from reading the sample passage of a specific writing style, students are expected to extract the main idea of the passage, figure out the point view of the author, understand how the evidences support the author’s opinion and learn the grammars and sentence structures in the passage by doing active in-class discussions and exercises. Apart from face-to-face learning commitment at school, students are also required to do some homework to consolidate what they have learnt on weekends. In the Semester 2 of Year 6, students are supposed to read an English novel under the instruction of their teachers to enlarge their vocabulary and develop the habit of reading regularly.
6年级的学生将继续进行听、说、读、写各方面的训练。每个单元围绕一种英语文体展开，通过阅读该文体的范文，学生要能提炼出文章的大意，了解作者的主要观点，在活跃的课程互动和练习中，学习相关语法、掌握有关词汇和句子结构。除课堂教学外，我们还要求学生完成家庭作业，巩固他们在周末学习的知识。从下半年开始，6年级学生还会在老师的指导下额外读一本我们推荐的英语小说，扩大词汇量，并养成阅读的良好习惯。
Year 6 Math
Students in Year 6 Math classes will keep on consolidate their skills of application and calculation involving whole numbers, fractions and decimals, and understand the relation between decimals and percentages. In Year 6, students start to have some taste on algebra and its basic applications. Reflection, translation and rotation will be further discussed in geometry. In the session of measurement, students are supposed to keep on learning how to measure the length and perimeter of regular and irregular areas and work out the volume, capacity and mass of items. In addition, students will keep on learning how to solve math problems by using strategies and problem-solving skills. Apart from face-to-face learning commitment at school, students are also required to do some homework to consolidate what they have learnt on weekends.
6年级数学课将继续巩固有关整数、分数和小数的应用和计算，掌握小数和百分数的关系。学生也会开始接触代数及其基本应用，几何学方面则将继续学习反射、平移和旋转。在有关测量的学习中，我们将学习如何测量规则和不规则图形的长度和直径，计算物体的体积、容积和质量。此外，学生也将继续学习数学问题解决技巧和策略。除课堂教学外，我们还要求学生完成家庭作业，巩固他们在周末学习的知识。
Intermediate Writing 1 (中级写作1)
In the class of Intermediate Writing 1, students are exposed to more styles of writing from narrative and informative writing to discussion and debate, encouraging them to read more widely at home. Excellent articles, news report and issues will also be brought into classroom to encourage discussion, helping students develop their own opinions and put them in writing. The topics selected are about heat-debated social affairs or latest events, making it easier for students to talk about something they know and making writing relevant to their lives. Students are also expected to learn how to make their writing powerful and meaningful.
在中级写作1的课程中，学生将接触更多的英语文体写作，包括记叙文、说明文、议论文等，激发学生扩大课后的阅读。老师会把优秀的报章文摘、争议话题带进课堂，鼓励学生进行积极的讨论，形成自己独特的观点，再述诸文字。我们选择的话题都是社会热点、时事，贴近学生的生活，让他们有话可说，同时学生也会学习如何让自己的作文雄辩有力。

The Year 6 Scholarship Testing class is conducted by doing the test-style English and Math papers in class under a time limit, supplemented with test review and test strategies instruction.
